• Pflugerville Pfund - A Small Business Emergency Grant Program

  • Special Announcement!
Thank you! You met the match and now we've been given another generous matching grant! You can make your donation twice as strong this week! The Pflugerville Pfund has been given a community challenge donation from the Timmerman and Hagan families. These lifelong Pflugerville families are matching the next $15,000 of donations!

Please help keep the support coming  for our local small businesses and donate today.

  • Application deadline is June 5, 2020. We will continue requesting donations and re-open the application process once we receive more funding.

    What is the Pflugerville Pfund?

The Pflugerville Pfund was established to help small businesses in Pflugerville that have been impacted by COVID-19. In response to the adverse economic impacts of this pandemic, the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation, Pflugerville Economic Development Foundation, Recurrent Energy and Montoya & Monzingo, LLP Certified Public Accountants to develop the Pflugerville Pfund, a small business emergency grant fund. The Pflugerville Pfund provides grants up to $5,000 for businesses that have been significantly impacted by this pandemic.

These community and business leaders recognize the challenging financial stress our small businesses are experiencing, and they chose to come together to launch this fund in an effort to help and support our local businesses. Our hope is that we can serve as a bridge to additional funding you may receive in the future from the government or the Small Business Administration.

    Who is eligible?

Eligible businesses must be in the Pflugerville city limits/ETJ and employ less than 50 people. Priority will be given to businesses that have had to: close, lay off employees, limit operations to take-out, curbside, or delivery, or can show other direct, negative impacts that threaten the ability of the business to continue operations long-term.

    What is the funding process?

Funding will begin immediately to address the urgent needs in our community. Businesses are encouraged to apply early as funding may run out soon. As additional donations are received from the community we hope to be able to extend the timeline for funding applications. All funding requests will be reviewed by a Fund Oversight Committee consisting of representatives with the Pflugerville Chamber and Pflugerville Pfund partners in the business community.  The Committee will make a best faith effort to meet an applicant’s request, but all distributions will be contingent upon the degree of financial need, the timeliness of application submission and the availability of funds.

Funds awarded will be paid directly to your vendors to cover rent, utilities, and other necessary expenses. Through this application process, you will be able to identify and share with us your greatest need, and we will make a best faith effort - contingent upon available funds - to provide some financial assistance.

The maximum request for funding is limited to $5,000 for a 45-day period. After 45 days an applicant may submit another request provided funding is available.

Pflugerville Pfund will provide financial assistance to businesses for one or more of the following purposes:

    • Business lease or mortgage payments
    • Utility payments
    • Payroll for employees still employed and working at the business
    • Critical business operations (raw materials, marketing expenses, etc…)
    • Other business needs as approved by the fund oversight committee

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate how the business has been negatively impacted. Applicants will need to list specific bill amounts and provide documentation of those business expenses by providing the invoice or bill. In addition, all businesses applying for funding must submit a current balance sheet.

Once a business has been awarded funding, that business will provide necessary documentation to the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce to allow direct payments to vendors, landlords, etc.

    How do I apply?

Applications are currently closed. We will continue requesting donations and re-open the application process once we receive more funding.

Can I make a donation to the fund?

Pflugerville Pfund is a charitable fund, managed by the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation. Funding supports small business in Pflugerville. Citizens of Pflugerville and the general public may also contribute to the fund to help sustain the growth of additional funding.
