The Importance of Shopping Locally
We hear time and time again- Why are there not more stores in Pflugerville?
Did you know that the Pflugerville community has more gift shops and eateries than ever before in its history providing unique gifts and great personal customer service. It is true Pflugerville is still a "commuter" community so we must all be more aware of where we choose to do our shopping, fill-up with gas and eat a meal.
Did you know every dollar in our local economy turns seven times You put gas in your car and that pays the employees of the gas station... That gas station employee eats lunch at one of our fast food restaurants and that pays the employees of the fast food restaurant... That fast food restaurant employee shops at one of our gift shops and the cycle continues supporting our grocery stores, automotive services, car washes, medical services, childcare providers and other local businesses. These businesses are all available locally, which means less time in your car and more time with your family during this hectic holiday season and all year long. These are also the same businesses that support our many worthy civic, school and charitable activities throughout our community.
So you trade with businesses that support the community of Pflugerville. This is especially important now with the 4B tax going into effect. Half a cent of every dollar spent will go to support our community's roads, parks and infrastructure needs. This is not just at holiday time, but also year long.

Somewhere between the glass and chrome of the high-rise and the verdant, fertile fields, lies the heart of the greater Pflugerville region. It is this comfortable blend of old and new, past and present, rural and urban, that makes this community the second fastest growing city in Texas. If you have chosen to call this home, on behalf of the Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce (Gpcc) welcome! We are proud to be the "Goodwill Ambassador" for our city and are conveniently located at 101 S. Third St. at Pecan St.
We offer a variety of information to newcomers such as: Area Business Directory, City Map, Community Calendar, Community Resource Guides, Day Care, Employment, Pflugerville I.S.D., Relocation and Tax/Utility Contacts. As the promoter of our business community, we offer referral services to our member businesses in the greater Pflugerville region. Our many fine local merchants include: developers/home builders, finance, home decor, maintenance/repair services, professional services, medical/health services, real estate, recreational, restaurants, retail and utilities.
If you are business owner/individual or considering opening a business, we have information to assist you. As our mission statement states, we are here to support and maintain economic development. Through membership in Gpcc, we can provide you with demographics, economic forecasts, educational seminars, financial resources, networking opportunities and SBA information. Volunteering to serve on one of our committees is also a great way to get to know our community. To name a few, we have opportunities in: Community Affairs which includes Deutschen Pfest, our annual heritage festival the third weekend in May, Communications which includes promotion of Gpcc as well as the community, Governmental Affairs which monitors the City Council meetings for issues affecting the business community and sponsors a Candidates Forum for local city/school elections, and Member Services which provides networking opportunities. To new residents and new businesses, we say "Willkommen!"
